Italian-based Aquafil USA to Expand in Cartersville, Georgia

Cartersville, March 14, 2014 - The major expansion of Aquafil USA, Inc. was announced today in Cartersville, Georgia by company officials. The expansion will involve a capital expenditure of approximately $25,000,000 and the creation of more than 50 new jobs.  Aquafil USA, Inc. originally located its U.S. headquarters in Cartersville, Georgia in 1999 and currently has 270 employees.  Aquafil USA, Inc. is part of Aquafil S.p.A., which is headquartered in Trento, Italy, and since 1969 has been a global leader in the production of filaments for textile flooring and synthetic fibers used in apparel and sports industries.

Gretchen Corbin, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs welcomed the Aquafil USA, Inc. expansion, which was made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the City of Cartersville, the Development Authority of Cartersville, Bartow County and the Cartersville-Bartow County Department of Economic Development.

Speaking on behalf of Aquafil USA, Inc., CEO and President Franco Rossi thanked the Mayor, state and local officials, and particularly the existing industry support of the Cartersville-Bartow Economic Development Department, for the conscientious assistance in supporting the Aquafil USA expansion which will occur at a facility on Friction Drive previously occupied by Bosch Brake Components LLC.

Cartersville Mayor Matt Santini responded, “This is a great day in Cartersville. When our companies are successful and grow, so goes the City.  Aquafil has been a valued corporate citizen for many years and we look forward to continuing our long-term partnership.”

Bartow County Sole Commissioner Steve Taylor, added, “Today’s announcement reflects the hard work that many people have put in to making a business friendly environment. I'm proud that Aquafil has chosen our community to continue to invest in and add manufacturing capacity. ”
