Quest Global Raises Fund for EVHS

December 09, 2012

Quest Global Inc., a local transportation company specializing in parcel, produce and textile logistics, recently held their inaugural Hauling for Hounds, an employee-based fundraiser for the Etowah Valley Humane Society.

Through the drive, employees contributed to the fund through direct donations or "purchased" the right to dress casually on designated days.  Their efforts, along with owners Jason and Carey Dickerson's dollar-for-dollar matching incentive, enabled the company to raise more than $6,500.

Carey Dickerson described her love for animals as the catalyst for taking initiative in the program.

"We wanted to bring awareness about the positive effects our local Humane Society has on our community," she said.  "Animals are among the most vulnerable members of our society.  Whether the focus is preventing animal neglect and abuse or promoting their humane and ethical treatment, we believe strongly that our local society has a vast impact on how animals will be treated going into the future.  Endorsing and investing in such a wonderful cause is love in its purest form.  If we could get other companies in the area to sponsor similar programs, think of all the lives that could be saved."

Executive Assistant Chris Champion explained from an employee's perspective, "Pets are ever-present family members for the majority of our employees.  To our teams on the road, pets are the biggest reminder of home and provide immense comfort and companionship.  Whether they travel the roads with our driving personnel or wait patiently for us to get home from the office, our pets are invaluable.  For these reasons, we saw an outpouring of support from the Quest family."

In addition to Hauling for Hounds, Quest Global is donating 44,000 pounds of kitty litter to EVHS and supplementing adoption fees for their employees.

EVHS Director Bryan Canty describes the impact that Quest Global is having on his organization, "The benevolence shown by these wonderful people is much more than EVHS could have ever asked for!  Quest Global gets it.  They recognize the plight of pet overpopulation in Bartow County and are pro-active in supporting EVHS with our efforts to curtail it through adoptions, spay/neuter programs and educating the general public on responsible pet ownership.  They are true allies in the battle to reduce euthanasia in our community."
