PROPERTY TAXES

2024  Effective Property Taxes

Real and personal property in Bartow County is assessed on 40 percent (40%) assessed value.  The assessed value is then multiplied by the total mill rate for the jurisdiction to calculate the tax bill.

 

Step 1:  Sample Tax Calculation:  $1,000 Assessed Value x 40% = $400
Step 2: Using unincorporated Bartow:  $400 x 0.024300 = $9.72

SALES TAX

Bartow County's sales tax rate is 7%:

  • 1% Local E-SPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax)
  • 1% Local SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax)
  • 1% Local LOST (Local Option Sales Tax)

Sales tax is not applicable to water or sewer services.

The State's 4% sales tax on energy used in the manufacturing process has been eliminated, made possible by Georgia HB386.
