Joining 15 other hospitals across the state, Cartersville Medical Center recently earned an ‘A’ ranking from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit patient safety watchdog.
“Cartersville Medical Center is truly honored to receive this prestigious acknowledgement from The Leapfrog Group,” said Ed Moyer, CMC’s chief nursing officer.
“Receiving a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of ‘A’ is a true reflection of the hard work and dedication our staff and physicians provide daily to ensure safe and quality care to our patients.
We will continue to strive to provide exceptional care to Bartow County and surrounding areas.”
Released Monday, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades allocate a letter grade — A, B, C, D and F — to hospitals across the country in regards to patient safety.
According to the CMC news release, “Cartersville Medical Center was one of 844 hospitals to receive an ‘A,’ ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States. ... Developed under the guidance of an Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year.
It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.”
