Gold Medal Athletes to Compete at LakePoint in 2014

LakePoint Sporting Community announces today that Extreme Volleyball Professionals (EVP) Tour will make its first ever stop in Atlanta in June 2014. The EVP Tour is an interactive beach volleyball event with some of the greatest elite volleyball athletes competing for top honors. The tour stop will take place June, 27 & 28, 2014 at the newly completed beach volleyball area at LakePoint. The event will include 24 professional teams and more than 100 semi-pro teams.  More than 300 athletes will be in attendance, some of the players are gold medal winners for the USA National team.

“We are excited that LakePoint Sporting Community has chosen the EVP Tour as part of its sporting events in 2014,” said EVP Tour Founder Ross Balling. “We travel all over the country and we believe the LakePoint Sporting Community will offer adult and youth athletes the best venue to compete.”

Included in the EVP Tour events in June 2014, will be a Junior Spike & Splash Tour where a series of matches and activities will take place for 12-18 year olds, as well as some of the top club teams in the Southeast participating.

During the tour stop, a travel sports show will also be shot that highlights the men’s and women’s semi-finals and final matches, as well as a special segment on the venue and surrounding community. The travel sports show will air on more than 20 regional sports networks throughout the country.
